Our whole Mission at Whispering Wind Ranches is to live a more healthy, sustainable life. This lifestyle includes plenty of nature, natural foods, less chemical intrusion (although I would prefer none, that is almost impossible), a smaller carbon footprint, less waste and living responsibly on the earth. Plastics have to be some part of life; some plastics are not only useful and give us good solid use for long periods of time and even sometimes plastics are beneficial and even lifesaving! I can only impact the immediate world around me; and by reaching out and spreading my mission to others, I can hope that my readers can impact their immediate worlds and create a wave or ripple effect.
So here at Whispering Wind Ranches, we have foregone the use of single use plastics. We have gotten rid of nearly all of our plastic product use. We no longer use (foam) paper plates and when we do use "picnicware" we have moved to cutlery made from avocado pits. Our composting toilet needs a bit of "fiber material" to function properly, so we have switched to bamboo and/or hemp bath tissue. I was amazed at the variety and number of alternatives to paper products and more sustainable personal products there are available. It seems as sustainability has gone more mainstream companies have jumped on the bandwagon! I'm elated about that! Qtips are biodegradable cotton swabs and LastSwab reusable swabs are now available readily all over the internet! Feminine Hygiene Menstrual cups are getting a little more spot light as we move into a less plastic society, and even cotton reusable/washable diapers are making a comeback. Those little cotton face circles.... You can buy reusable ones Annnd.. soon they will be available right here on our shop! Crafted right here at Whispering Wind Ranches! Bamboo handled natural bristled toothbrushes... yep, we have 'em, reusable "swedish" towels... have those too! Ive replaced all of my saran and sandwich lock bags with reusable wraps...super cute patterns, hand crafted with organic beeswax which is sourced right here on the Canyon Mesa, all natural fabrics and of course, they will be available for sale in our webstore! Natural sea sponges, coconut and walnut fiber scrubbers for kitchen use, bamboo handled natural fiber scrub brushes... Yep.. we've got them! Reusable shopping bags..mmhmm!!
